Our Affirmation
"Grateful for infinite possibilities and mindful
of our enormous potential and noble purpose, I dare to affirm greatness for Sunshine
Cathedral. We are a bright light for the human family and we are limited only by
the size of our dreams. When we dream big and summon the courage to make a total
commitment to those dreams, all things are possible. With love and appreciation
I bless my Sunshine Cathedral where we are truly seekers and students of Truth,
empowered by Spirit, sharing the Light with the World. And so it is!"

Saving Jesus: A Wednesday
night summer series
Ever feel Jesus has been kidnapped by the Christian Right? Then you will
want to take part in the “Saving Jesus” series this summer. This is a hybrid
worship and education experience sponsored by Light University.
E-Vangelism: thousands reached in April
Matthew 28:18-19 is often called the Great Commission. It calls for
disciple making (helping people be “seekers and students of Truth…”) and
for greater inclusion. At Sunshine Cathedral, we are trying to honor this Great Commission in
a variety of ways, including being very present in the electronic
universe.
Cathedral Board selects officers
Every seat on the Board of Directors is now filled with an elected
member, and new officers of the board have been selected.
Would you host a dine-around party?
Cocktails or dinner. Five guests or a hundred. The details are up to
you! This is a fundraiser for the ministries of Sunshine Cathedral.
Let’s stay strong this
summer
Sunshine Cathedral will remain a seven day a week / 12 month a year
worshiping community. If you are away this summer, you can remain
connected to Sunshine Cathedral.
Happiness NOW continues
From now until May
25th, we are offering a sermon series called
“Happiness Now” based on the book Happiness Now!: Timeless Wisdom for
Feeling Good FAST by psychologist Robert Holden. The sermons will
still focus on the scripture readings for the day but will be linked to
the theme of happiness (perfect for the Easter season!).

Godly Surrender: A Cure for Unhappiness
“I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out —
plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you
hope for …yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than
anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed. [This is God’s
decree].” [Jeremiah 29:11 & 14a (The Message)]
Have you felt burdened, anxious, fearful, uncertain,
listless, and the like? Sounds like we have a case of unhappiness. God,
through the prophet Jeremiah, instructed people in exile over 2,000 years
ago, and speaks to us today. The call to seriously make a disciplined,
deliberate effort to find out about God, God’s character, God’s nature,
God’s feelings, God’s desires, God’s promises, and God’s love, is one for
“seekers and students of truth”. This will lead us to God’s peace that cures
unhappiness; we must surrender our thoughts and will to God who absolutely
Knows. Surrender. Be Happy.
I stand humbled and surrendered. God knows best and I
believe it.
